Nungshi Laonambi
IMPHAL | Feb 11 : As a part of ongoing 46th All Manipur Shumang Leela Festival, a play titled “Nungshi Lounambi” by Mami Artists Association was staged today at Iboyaima Shumang Leela Shanglen, Palace Compound. The play is written by Manaobi M. M and directed by Narendra Ningomba.
The play features well known artists Danny Likmabam, Thokchom Joseph, R. K. Sanaton among others. The play portrays how educated Manipuris shifted to abroad especially London for jobs and their lifestyles they adopted. It is also about how love is being used as a strategy to catch a long absconded murderer.
The festival is supposed to conclude on February 16 but due to two days bandh imposed by KCP tomorrow and day after, it will conclude on February 18. The festival is organised by State Kala Akademi.
